Frequently asked questions
Do participants need an app or an account?
No. Participants open the page in the browser on their phone or laptop, scan the QR code or enter the 6-character code.
Does Votarium work in Teams, Zoom or Webex?
Yes. You share the screen view as a window or tab, everyone else takes part on their own device. You run the meeting from a separate control view with notes and a timer.
How is Votarium different from polling tools like Mentimeter or Slido?
Votarium is built for outcomes: an agenda with time budgets, recorded decisions, action items with owners and automatically generated minutes. On top of that comes a lean, cookie-free privacy approach without third parties.
Is Votarium GDPR-compliant?
Votarium collects as little data as possible: participants never enter names (an attendee list is optional and only for the presenter), no cookies, no tracking, no external services, servers in Germany. Participants stay anonymous.
What does Votarium cost?
Nothing. Votarium is free to use. Voluntary support with a coffee helps further development.
Which languages does Votarium support?
German and English. Content appears in the language you create it in; participants see the controls in their own language.
Is Votarium finished?
Votarium is in beta. All features described here work; details and further features are being worked on. Feedback from real meetings goes straight into development.
How long is data stored?
A session is deleted automatically with all answers 30 days after it starts, presentations one year after the last change. On request we delete it immediately.
